This is the 500th post on Colinology

Since I started this blog nearly a year ago on April 9th 2012, I have officially reached 500 posts as I publish this one, and to celebrate the occasion I once again would like to thank everyone that has been following.

You’re the people that make me come back and continue with it, and you’re the people that make me think about “what should I post about today?” at least a couple of times a day. Even when I launch into an immature whinging screed about my first world problems, it feels good to have you lot here.

A blog is not a megaphone for one person to shout out into the wild; it is a conversation, a dialogue, and you certainly have talked back to me. Not always what I wanted, or hoped, to hear, but always with dignity and respect I think. Well, apart from the few trolls I’ve had, but there have been remarkably few of those. Maybe the walls of text have hit the trolls for terminal damage.

Over these last 500 posts you lot have made 3011 comments, so on average there are six comments per post. That makes me humble, and grateful, and dare I say it a little bit proud that I’ve attracted the best audience ever. :)

Thank you.

  1. Congratulations Colin :) . And thanks for all those thoughtful and thought-provoking posts. And all the others as well ;) . Your words are always worth reading whether I agree with them or not, so here’s to the next 500 posts!

  2. As someone about to embark on his own journey into blog-land, you are an inspiration. I have really enjoyed “Colinology” and heartily congregate you on this milestone!

  3. Thank you Colin, for allowing us to know of your life and your thoughts, and for giving us the chance to offer our thoughts in return. Long may your posts continue! :)

    • Haha, it’s not like it’s a huge effort. I ramble for a bit, and that’s that. I’m surprised that people actually read it.

  4. You are the most articulate “rambler” ever. And you always have these insights into not only what happens, but how it works, how people work, what thought processes bring about the external play. This perhaps, is what keeps me reading. You do more than just tell us about your day, you weave it into something worth pondering. Thanks for the insight and sometimes the little escape. Congrats!
